Anyone else booked for Sept 6th?
Is anyone else booked on the sane tour?
Any advice on clothing for a solo male traveller? What’s the best eSIM?

Any advice on clothing for a solo male traveller? What’s the best eSIM?
Looking for recommendations to fill two full days before my tour starts. I'm interested in Wildlife, food and culture, or even a good ol' Ayurvedic Spa Treatment session? Especially keen to hear from anyone who’s spent a bit of time in Negambo, and thus has personal recommendations. We are booked for the 14th June departure if anyone else is also booked for those dates?
Hi!
I am purchasing travel insurance and I’m not sure if I need to do the add on for high altitude hiking. Don’t want to under/over cover. What did you do regarding insurance when you travel there? TY!
Hey everyone,
I’d really like to join a WeRoad trip, but I snore when I sleep, so I’m curious about your experiences with that on these kinds of group trips.
How often does it happen that someone snores? Is it pretty common, or only every now and then?
And also: how many people do you usually share a bedroom with?
This is honestly one of the things I find most difficult about joining a group trip, because I really don’t want to be a burden to anyone.
Would love to hear your experiences.
Just want to remind fellow G travellers to download the app as it seems to get overlooked. All your past trips are listed plus the full itinerary of booked/upcoming trips. The chat feature at the bottom shows you names of travellers on your trip and how many people are currently on the trip. It updates when new people sign up for the same trip. The chat feature is also great for connecting with people that will be in the starting city prior to the start date and perhaps you can make some plans together prior to the group meeting on Day 1. I have my 11th trip coming up and this app/chat is always underutilized. I think early on there were some glitches reported but I find it to work very well.
I just got back from the Classic Inca Trail with Intrepid Travel and wanted to share what really helped me deal with altitude sickness, since I was pretty worried about it beforehand.
Before the trek:
Arrived in Cusco 3 days early to acclimatize (this was crucial!)
Took it super easy the first 2 days - just walked around slowly, no strenuous activities
Drank coca tea at the hotel every morning and evening
Stayed really hydrated - like 4-5 liters of water per day
What I packed:
Diamox (altitude sickness medication) - got it prescribed before I left
Ibuprofen for headaches
Electrolyte tablets for my water bottle
Coca leaves (bought in Cusco - way cheaper than at home)
During the trek:
Started taking Diamox 2 days before we began hiking
Our guide was amazing at setting a "pole pole" (slowly slowly) pace
Forced myself to drink water even when I wasn't thirsty
The coca leaves actually did help with the headaches
What surprised me:
Day 2 (Dead Woman's Pass at 4,215m) was tough but manageable with proper pacing
Sleeping at altitude was harder than hiking - bring earplugs!
The guides carry oxygen tanks just in case (never needed it but good to know)
My advice:
Don't skip the acclimatization days in Cusco - I saw people who flew in the day before really struggling
Listen to your body - there's no shame in taking breaks
The porters and guides know their stuff - trust them when they tell you to slow down
Anyone else doing this trek soon? Happy to answer questions! The whole experience was incredible and totally worth the preparation.
Going in June, trying to pack as light as possible.
1. Do I need a waterproof cover for my suitcase?
2. Do I need to take a sleep sheet?
