Can I enter Albania on a Schengen residence permit?

Visas
Quick one for anyone who knows, I'm an expat living in the Netherlands with a residence permit and i've been eyeing this trip for August. Albania isn't EU so I'm not entirely sure if I can go. Do I need a visa or does the residence permit cover me somehow? Don't want to sort flights and then get a nasty surprise at the airport 😅 Has anyone dealt with this?

You're fine! I'm an EU citizen so I never had to think about it myself, but a friend of mine came with me to Albania last year — she's Brazilian, lives in Germany on a residence permit, same situation as you. Zero issues at the border. Albania lets you in visa-free if you have a valid Schengen residence permit regardless of what passport you're holding. Just make sure the permit is valid for the full duration of the trip. I'd still do a quick check on the Albanian e-visa portal to be sure but honestly — book it 🙌
