Snoring during group travel

Advice

Hey everyone,

I’d really like to join a WeRoad trip, but I snore when I sleep, so I’m curious about your experiences with that on these kinds of group trips.

How often does it happen that someone snores? Is it pretty common, or only every now and then?

And also: how many people do you usually share a bedroom with?

This is honestly one of the things I find most difficult about joining a group trip, because I really don’t want to be a burden to anyone.

Would love to hear your experiences.

I have done a few group tours and snoring in shared dorms is more common than people admit. Most groups handle it with good humour. Earplugs every single night, without exception. The foam ones work better than the wax ones for blocking deeper sounds. Beyond that the best thing you can do is be upfront with your group early — most people appreciate honesty over suffering in silence for two weeks.

It comes up every few trips. In my experience it is rarely the dealbreaker people fear it will be. The group dynamic usually sorts it out. If you are the snorer the most considerate thing is to mention it yourself early rather than waiting for someone else to bring it up.
