Snoring during group travel

Advice

Hey everyone,

I’d really like to join a WeRoad trip, but I snore when I sleep, so I’m curious about your experiences with that on these kinds of group trips.

How often does it happen that someone snores? Is it pretty common, or only every now and then?

And also: how many people do you usually share a bedroom with?

This is honestly one of the things I find most difficult about joining a group trip, because I really don’t want to be a burden to anyone.

Would love to hear your experiences.

On a lot of group trips you can upgrade to get a private room, with companies like G Adventures . I’d recommend looking into that option

You can also opt for private rooms with WeRoad too!

get the snoring tape ! my friend snores so much, she's a level pro that used to make me not want to travel with her, since she bought the tape it made a huge difference !

I just take ear plugs with me and that sorts the snoring problem can't hear them. I use alpine silicone ones that are really good blocking noise out

Lee Jennison I take earplugs EVERYWHERE with me, even if I'm not sharing - sometimes noise pollution is just too disruptive 😂

I took AirPods and played white noise for nights that it was bad. Other than that I had full permission to wake them up to rearrange their position to stop snoring

Some nights it was 2 people in a room but most nights it was 4+

Depending on the trip, you can pay between an extra £100 - £300 for a private room.

Most of the times the room is shared with one other person but sometimes it could be more. In the first 2 trips I've done, the person I was sharing a room with was snoring a lot which made it hard for me to sleep (some of the nights not at all, even with ear plugs, and I ended up sleep deprived for the whole duration of the trips). After having these experiences, now I book my trips with a private room. I recomend getting the private room option since you're aware that you snore. In this way, you can also relax without having to worry whether you're bothering anyone 😊

Wait till you hear me snore!! In Tanz safari, there were no wild animals in our open camp becoz I was too loud!! Dont worry about it.. 🤣🤘

It's good that you are aware of this issue. Because for me, it is the most frustrating thing to listen to, especially when you need a good sleep ahead of a busy day the next day. It can be so annoying, and it does make people view the person snoring differently. No one wants to be that person on a group trip, only meeting for the first time. Sorry 😂 You could look into preventative measures for snoring. Or if you would feel more comfortable, you could book a single room.

We regularly had 4 people sharing a room on our trip, but you can also upgrade to sole room occupancy

I hate sharing with a someone who snores loudly. I usually can’t sleep at all when there’s someone snoring loudly. It’s super inconsiderate in a shared space.
