Morocco in July and August — is the heat actually a problem?

Advice
Looking at doing a G Adventures Morocco trip in July or August this year and the heat is the one thing giving me pause. I handle warm weather reasonably well but I am also not someone who loves being miserable in 40 degree heat. Has anyone done Morocco in summer? Did it affect what you could do or how much you enjoyed it? The itinerary has a lot of medina walking and market time which I imagine gets intense when it is that hot. Also wondering if July versus August makes any meaningful difference or if they are both equally brutal.

Done Morocco twice with G Adventures, once in May and once in September. July and August are genuinely hot — Marrakech and Fes can hit 38-42 degrees and the medinas hold heat badly. That said it does not ruin the trip. You adapt. Start early, retreat indoors during the worst of midday, come back out in the late afternoon when it cools. The riads and medina interiors are shaded and much cooler than the streets. Fes is harder than Marrakech because the lanes are narrower and there is less airflow. The desert section if your itinerary includes one is actually fine at night. August is marginally hotter than July but not by much. If you can go in September or October you will have a noticeably more comfortable experience. If July or August is your only window then go — just lower your midday expectations and drink more water than you think you need.
