Cambodia: Border Disputes with Thailand

Safety

Updated: February 3, 2026

Border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia continue as tensions remain high over disputed border areas.

Thailand launched airstrikes into Cambodia as fighting broke out along the disputed border area, with both countries accusing the other of breaching a U.S backed ceasefire agreement.

G Adventures is operating groups in Thailand and Cambodia, however, groups are not close to the affected border area and we can advise that all travellers and staff are safe and accounted for.

G Adventures will continue to send notifications to affected groups where adjustments to itineraries are necessary due to border closures.

Escalations remain restricted to the border area, which is approximately 250 KM away from Siem Reap and 400 KM from Bangkok. All land border checkpoints remain closed. Whilst we continue to closely monitor the situation, all of our trips crossing the Thailand - Cambodia border are currently running as scheduled with no interruptions. We continue to secure flights for all our travellers in place of the usual land border crossings.
